With degrees in both psychology and leadership, and 20 years of international coaching experience, Sonia founded Travel Awakens to help people restore their sense of wonder and appreciation for the places they visit — while uncovering a more authentic version of themselves.
Since first walking the Camino de Santiago in 2017, Sonia has returned to this sacred path year after year — guiding dozens of people through transformative group journeys that blend inner clarity with the power of purposeful travel.
Thanks to the intentional structure of this experience, participants arrive grounded, open, and connected to what they’re truly seeking — and return home with the tools, insights, and support they need to integrate the transformation long after the final step is taken.

Experience the stunning beauty of the Spanish countryside as we walk the last 100km of the legendary French Way.
Every year, more than 300,000 people from all over the world make the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, seeking transformation and self-discovery. Walking the Camino gives you the unique opportunity to be fully present in the moment, focusing only on the next step and enjoying the beautiful landscapes, the sights and sounds of Northern Spain, with time and space for connection and conversations along the way.
However, this isn't just an ordinary pilgrimage experience. A personal coach will be with you along the way, providing guidance, support, and accountability as you embark on this journey of self-discovery. You'll have the chance to reflect on your life, afford yourself the space and time to gain clarity on your passions and purpose, set new intentions to integrate into the life you want to live, and connect with a supportive community of like-minded individuals.
No two journeys are the same, and whether you're a seasoned pilgrim or taking your first steps, this experience has the power to change your life.

We will start our journey in the historic town of Sarria, in the province of Lugo. Today, you can enjoy a first day strolling through its streets, discovering its monuments or relaxing in one of its terraces enjoying a lively pilgrim atmosphere. Let yourself be invaded by the thousands of sensations and emotions of nerves and joy that you will experience as soon as you arrive. In the evening we will have a welcome dinner reception before we settle in for the night. Tomorrow, the adventure begins!

Well, now we’re off to our first day as pilgrims! We will start our French Way by walking the first stage from Sarria to Portomarín, an easy and pilgrim-friendly itinerary. We will cross rivers and forests and find small churches and villages, with plenty of places to stop and have a drink. Pilgrims say that this is one of the most beautiful stages of the French route, so you know, lucky to start here. As soon as we arrive on the banks of the river Miño, we will find the charming village of Portomarín, resplendent with its white houses and slate roofs. An end of stage that we will fall in love with, and that keeps a secret under the waters of the reservoir. All we have to do now is relax and enjoy!

On this day we will head to Palas de Rei, a stage with some unevenness in which you will combine road and mountain along 25 kilometres. During the tour we will discover the Castromaior site, a good example of a settlement of the ancient inhabitants of Galicia. Once in Palas de Rei, we will have the opportunity to visit several archaeological remains of the megalithic culture such as dolmens, as well as mámoas and castros. As you can see, Palas de Rei will offer us a very didactic stay about this land.

It is a stage of progressive slopes with little difficulty. The first kilometres of the day run through a beautiful and shady corridor surrounded by trees. When you reach Ponte Campaña, you will cross the bridge over the river Pambre and take the wooded path through small villages. The Way will take you to the village of Leboreiro, in the municipality of Melide. At this point you will be struck by a large circular basket made of intertwined sticks and covered with straw; it is the cabazo of Leboreiro and we encourage you to ask a neighbour about its use. Behind the cabazo is the Romanesque church of Santa Maria, which you can also visit. After crossing the bridge over the river Furelos and walking a few more kilometres, you will enter Melide, the capital of Galician octopus. You are in Galicia and here good food is a religion, so you can’t leave without tasting this delicacy in one of its many pulperías

Today you will say goodbye to Melide with a short stage ahead, although with some moderate elevation. However, we assure you that the effort will be worth it as you find yourself surrounded by extraordinary Atlantic forests. And if the weather is on your side, you can't forget your swimsuit. Upon arriving at Ribadiso de Abaixo, you will have the opportunity to swim in the river and enjoy the beautiful landscape and the magical environment that accompanies this small village. Once in Arzúa, you will have all the services to stock up and rest. Ah! And you can't leave without trying the typical cheese that bears the name: Denomination of Origin Arzúa-Ulloa; accompanied by other typical products from the area.

Today begins the penultimate stage of your French Way. A pleasant walk through comfortable and flat terrain, with plenty of bars and restaurants that will encourage you to take it easy. Probably, as we walk, you will notice and realize that a kind of collective emotion begins to exist among the pilgrims. Do you feel it too? The feeling of excitement, nerves and joy is the most characteristic of the end of the stage in O Pedrouzo. The advice, and you will see that everyone does the same, is to go to bed early to get up early the next day and start the stage very early. This way you will arrive earlier to Santiago and you will have more time in the city.

At last the last stage of your journey is here. Once we arrive at Monte do Gozo, you will discover that pleasant sensation when you first see the towers of the cathedral. A perfect panoramic view before savouring our last kilometres and making the triumphal entrance to the Plaza del Obradoiro. You are in Santiago! Feel happy and proud to have completed your Camino de Santiago. Now we just need to pick up the Compostela certificate and enjoy an incredible day getting to know the Galician capital.

Your pre- and post-Camino coaching sessions will be led by Sonia Cruz Oro (Travel Awakens) and Sahara Rose De Vore (The Travel Coach Network).
During the pilgrimage, you’ll be guided in person by Sonia — Sahara Rose will not be joining the Camino -
You do not need to have any specific amount of walking experience in order to participate in this pilgrimage. However, it is important to be physically fit and able to walk for extended periods of time. If you can regularly walk for 10k - 15k at home, you should be well placed to walk the Camino where stages can be in the order of 20km/day. If you have any concerns about your physical ability to participate, it is recommended that you consult with a healthcare professional before signing up.

We encourage you to consider sharing accommodations. Not only because of the limited availability of single rooms along the Camino, but also because it opens doors to deeper connections and cherished experiences. However, singe rooms are available with a supplement of +$280 on top of the established price.
